Those of you who have belonged to the VDC for a while know that the School of Medicine's James B. Williams Medical Education Building (widely known as "The School of Medicine Building") has occasionally served as our temporary clubhouse. Beginning in 2026 it will be our permanent Clubhouse until further notice.
The School of Medicine Building (100 Woodruff Circle, Atlanta) fronts Clifton Rd, the main thoroughfare through the Emory campus, but has no parking immediately at the building.
Drop-off Location: SOM Building Back Door.

After being dropped off on Means Drive, the SOM building will be on your Left. Just to the right of a fountain (which isn't always turned on)

EMORY CLINIC PARKING DECK:
PAY LOT: 8 minute walk.

From Clifton Rd, Lowergate Dr. is directly across the street from the entrance to the Emory Hospital Emergency Room.
Walking to the SOM Building from the Emory Clinic Parking Deck: Walk from the deck to Clifton Road. Cross Clifton at the light and turn Right. Walk one block, passing Emory Hospital. Turn left at the shuttle bus circle. When facing the circle the School of Medicine Building is on the far right side.
MICHAEL STREET PARKING DECK:

From Clifton Rd. turn downhill at the light at Houston Mill Rd. and then left at your first chance onto Rollins Way. The deck is immediately on your right. Use the first (staff) parking entrance, the gate arm goes up after 4:30pm.
Walking to the SOM Building from the Michael Street Parking Deck: Walk towards the skywalk linking the two RSPH buildings then turn right onto a sidewalk that runs in front of the Rollins Research Building. Follow that sidewalk past Rollins Research, down a flight of stairs, and across a pedestrian bridge spanning the CSX rail road tracks. SOM is the second building on your Left, looking conspicuously marble-clad, just past a fountain. Come in at street level through double glass doors to get to the commons area, i.e. *the food.*

WHSCAB is located at 1440 Clifton Rd NE, Atlanta, across the street from Egleston Children's Hospital. Clifton is the main thoroughfare through the Emory campus.
The closest free parking is in the Michael Street Parking Deck on Rollins Way behind the Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH) (Google Map it here). For those of you who prefer written directions, you get to the parking deck from Clifton Rd. by turning downhill at the light at Houston Mill Rd. and then left at your first chance onto Rollins Way. The deck is immediately on your right. Use the first (staff) parking entrance, the gate arm goes up after 4:30pm.
From there walk towards the overhead pedestrian bridge that links the two RSPH buildings then turn right onto a sidewalk that runs in front of the Rollins Research Building. Follow that sidewalk past Rollins, down a flight of stairs, and across a pedestrian bridge spanning the CSX rail road tracks. Once you decant from the pedestrian bridge WHSCAB is the cement building immediately on your Left.
TO GET TO THE FOOD: Wine & cheese & networking BEFORE the meetings and dinner AFTER the meetings will be held upstairs in WHSCAB Plaza, which is accessible via outside stairs to the left of the fountain and via inside stairs directly across from the entrance to the Auditorium.
TO GET TO THE TALK: The most direct way to the Auditorium from outside the building is by walking past the fountain and then through a glass door in what looks like a nuclear silo. Then traverse a short hallways. The Auditorium will be the large, auditorium-ish room on your left.

Claudia Nance Rollins (CNR) is located at 1518 Clifton Rd NE, Atlanta, 30322. Clifton is the main thoroughfare through the Emory campus. The closest free parking is in the deck behind the building. You get there from Clifton Rd. by turning downhill at the light at Houston Mill Rd. and then left at your first chance onto an access road (Rollins Way). Use the first (staff) parking entrance, the gate arm goes up after 4:00pm.
From there walk across the street to the first building on your left -- a low stone wall in front of it says "Rollins School of Public Health." Come in through the double glass doors to get to the lobby area, i.e. *the food.*

Very occasionally the VDC meets on the main campus of the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention (CDC), home turf of almost half of the VDC's membership.
The CDC is located at 1600 Clifton Rd NE, Atlanta, 30333. Our meeting is held in Building 19, aka the "Tom Harkin Global Communications Center." Parking is in a deck immediately adjacent to Building 19. Once you have gone through vehicle security and parked, walk into the building, sign in, present photo ID, go through the metal detector, and pick up your name tag before proceeding to the lobby outside the auditorium in which we will be meeting.
Note: Entry to buildings on the CDC campus requires a background check by CDC security so reservations to attend a meeting held there must be made at least a month in advance.

Whitehead is located at 615 Michael St NE, Atlanta, 30322, directly across from the old Dental School Building. The closest free parking is in the deck behind the Rollins School of Public Health (RSPH). You get there from Clifton Rd. by turning downhill at the light at Houston Mill Rd. and then left at your first chance onto Rollins Way. Use the first (staff) parking entrance, the gate arm goes up after 4:30pm.
